About Course

This Regewall Training institute program is designed to equip professionals with the analytical tools and modeling techniques required to bridge the gap between business strategy and operational execution.

Course Title: Business Process Analysis & Modeling

In an era of digital transformation, understanding “how work gets done” is critical. This course provides a hands-on framework for identifying, documenting, analyzing, and improving business processes using industry-standard notations like BPMN 2.0.

2. Who Should Attend?

This program is ideal for individuals tasked with improving organizational efficiency or implementing new systems:

  • Business Analysts & Systems Analysts

  • Process Owners & Managers

  • Project Managers

  • Quality Assurance & Compliance Officers

  • IT Professionals looking to understand the business context of software development.

3. Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define the lifecycle of a business process from inception to optimization.

  • Document complex workflows using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN).

  • Identify bottlenecks, redundancies, and inefficiencies in “As-Is” processes.

  • Design “To-Be” processes that align with organizational goals.

  • Communicate technical process changes effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

4. Training Methodology

To ensure maximum knowledge retention, the course utilizes a blended learning approach:

  • Interactive Workshops: Real-world case studies where participants map actual business scenarios.

  • Hands-on Tooling: Use of modeling software (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, or Signavio).

  • Peer Reviews: Collaborative sessions to critique and refine process models.

  • Simulation: Testing “To-Be” models against potential business constraints.

5. Detailed Course Outline

Module 1: Foundations of Business Process Management (BPM)

  • Introduction to the BPM Lifecycle.

  • Differentiating between Functions, Processes, and Tasks.

  • Aligning processes with organizational strategy and KPIs.

Module 2: Process Identification and Scoping

  • Defining process boundaries (Start and End triggers).

  • Identifying stakeholders and creating a SIPOC (Supplier, Input, Process, Output, Customer) diagram.

  • Prioritizing processes for analysis based on value and risk.

Module 3: Process Modeling with BPMN 2.0

  • Understanding the “Alphabet” of modeling: Tasks, Gateways, and Events.

  • Using Pools and Lanes to define accountability (RACI).

  • Modeling complex logic: Parallel paths, inclusive choices, and error handling.

Module 4: Analysis Techniques (The “As-Is” State)

    • Value-Added Analysis: Distinguishing between real value, business value, and waste.

    • Root Cause Analysis: Using Fishbone diagrams and the “5 Whys.”

    • Gap Analysis: Identifying the distance between current performance and desired targets.

Module 5: Process Improvement and Design (The “To-Be” State)

  • Design principles: Eliminating waste, automating steps, and parallelizing tasks.

  • Managing organizational change: Transitioning from the old way to the new way.

  • Continuous monitoring and feedback loops.

6. Success Criteria

Participants will complete a Capstone Project where they must take a dysfunctional business scenario, model the current state, perform a gap analysis, and present a redesigned “To-Be” model with clear ROI justifications.
