Mastering Renewable & Alternative Energies

About Course
Course Overview
Do you wish global warming potentials to escalate and affect our livelihoods? How can renewable energy reduce the carbon footprint and hence reduce the global warming potential? The whole world is focusing on green energy, reduction of carbon footprint, and reduction in global warming potential. Cleaner environment and sustainable smart grids and microgrids are the mainstay of today’s electrical energy generation. Emerging economies are seriously looking into the optimization of renewable energy generation. Electricity storage and integration of renewables into the grids are gaining momentum in the electric power industry.
Renewable energy sources are sources of energy that are constantly replenished through natural processes. These resources are often also referred to as alternative or renewable energy, mainly because they are a fuel option that can replace conventional non-renewable fossil fuels. Technologies like solar and wind power are becoming more common across the globe and are both examples of renewable energy sources. There are several ways to generate power from renewable sources. Distributed energy resources and other renewable energies, such as hydroelectricity, geothermal, tidal energy and biomass, are rapidly gaining recognition in the generation of electricity.
By the end of this Mastering Renewable & Alternative Energies training course, participants will learn to:
- Recognize the concepts of global warming potential and the reduction of carbon footprints
- Appreciate the various methods of green energy generation of electricity
- Determine the solar, wind, and hydro electricity
- Understand the merits of bulk energy storage and distributed energy resources
- Design the interconnection between renewables and the grid
This RTI training course will ensure that participants will receive a thorough training on the subjects covered by the course outline, with the instructor utilising a variety of proven adult learning teaching and facilitation techniques. Each participant will receive a copy of the comprehensive training course notes. The presenter will outline and discuss the topics using computer displays, videos, and a PowerPoint presentation.
The training course is designed to be interactive to maximize delegate participation. Questions and answers are encouraged throughout and at the daily sessions. Needs-based case studies and examples will be discussed in problem-solving workshop sessions. This gives participants the opportunity to discuss their specific problems and appropriate solutions with other delegates and the presenter.
Upon completion of the RTI training course, the organisational impact would be:
- Technical training and up-skilling to improve and realize the full potential of a competent workforce
- Productivity increases through the minimization of project time, acceptance/design, and testing
- Identification of opportunities for improvement due to a deep understanding of the various types of renewable energy generation of electricity
- Networking of personnel with technology leaders and other engineers
- Attitude change of workforce, as continuous follow-up of new technologies and their uptake could otherwise create a workforce with high resistance to change due to a lack of understanding
- Ensure safety practices are adhered to when carrying out electrical installation activities
On successful completion of this training course delegate will be able to:
- Recognize the importance of zero carbon emissions and global warming potentials
- Understand the principles of operation and construction of solar power generation
- Appreciate the potential of wind power via wind turbines
- Be exposed to the new alternative energies like biomass and geothermal
- Recognize the merits of energy storage and distributed energy resources
- Comprehend the interconnection between the renewable energy and the grid ,utilizing the smart and micro grids
The Engineering and Administrative staff will be able to comprehend the types, characteristics, operations, and merits of renewable energy generation. This will enable them to carry out effective zero carbon emissions.
